Marvel/DC: The Dead Of Knight & Other Stories – September Graphic Novel of The Month.

For the first time since 2003, Marvel and DC have teamed up to present a new series of crossovers that sees their top heroes once again team-up in Marvel/DC: The Dead Of Knight & Other Stories. Deadpool, Batman, Spider-Man and Superman headline a momentous meeting of Earth’s Mightiest and the World’s Finest! When Wade Wilson is hired for a job in Gotham City, will billionaire Bruce Wayne help him track down his target…a certain Dark Knight? Then, when Norman Osborn and Lex Luthor join forces, you can bet that will spell big trouble for Spider-Man and Superman!

In previous years (despite their rivalry as the big two of comics), Marvel and DC had a rich history of crossovers. Beginning in 1976 with the landmark Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man, the two companies produced several memorable crossover comics including X-Men/Teen Titans, Spider-Man/Batman, Batman/Punisher, Green Lantern/Silver Surfer and the much-loved JLA/Avengers. But since 2003, fans have been deprived of both these classic tales and the chance to see new ones. But in 2025, Marvel and DC announced a new line-up of crossovers. This began with Deadpool/Batman and was then followed by Spider-Man/Superman to mark the 50^th anniversary of the heroes’ original meeting.

This collection features the recent Marvel/DC one-shots published by Marvel (DC also have their own collection with their published versions) along with some previously online-only Infinity Comics featuring further crossovers. From a creative standpoint, these crossovers could not have gotten off to a better start. Superstar Batman artist Greg Capullo was a natural choice for Deadpool and Batman’s first meeting with veteran Marvel and comedy writer Zeb Wells bringing his trademark humour to the forefront. Meanwhile, Spider-Man’s meeting with Superman provides the full-length Marvel debut of acclaimed Justice League writer Brad Meltzer whilst current Amazing Spider-Man artist Pepe Larraz proves why he’s one of top artists in the industry.

For fans, there is a wealth of content featuring meetings between characters they’d never imagine crossing over from top comic creators. Highlights include Daredevil meeting Green Arrow courtesy of Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert, Captain America fighting alongside Wonder Woman during WWII from Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson, and Jeff The Land Shark creators Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru reuniting to bring Jeff and Krypto The Superdog together. The legendary Frank Miller also returns to present an encounter between his versions of Batman and Wolverine.
