Discover the wonder of gardens in this beautiful story of a young Palestinian girl and her Jiddo.

Jiddo’s garden is a wonder. In it grow so many amazing things – to see, smell, and taste. But helping him to tend the garden teaches this young girl about even more than fig trees. It gives her a chance to discover just who she is. Many years ago, many Palestinians had to leave their homelands. Then, year after year, more were pushed to leave, over and over again, like a bad dream that won’t end. Now, millions of families like hers live far away from home. But Jiddo shows her how, until they can return, tending a garden can connect them to home – and to each other! Of all the things that grow in Jiddo’s garden, belonging is one thing that taking care of the earth can always teach everyone.

I’m Longer than You! by Carolyn Fisher
Kids Can Press | Ages 5-8; Key Stages 1-2 | 9781525312946 | Hardback | £17.99 | Out Now

A funny, smart and delightfully original way to teach kids about units of measure.

When Supersaurus claims to be the longest animal, Blue Whale begs to differ. The two animals debate who is longer until Inchworm (who happens to be exactly one inch long) enters the scene and offers to measure them both. The animals agree and decide the loser will treat the winner to lunch. Inchworm inches along the entire length of Blue Whale, who measures 1300 inches long. But the measuring took so long that Inchworm has no time to measure Supersaurus. Luckily, Centipede (who happens to be exactly one centimeter long) offers to measure all 3302 centimetres of Supersaurus. Great! Except centimetres are different units of measure from inches. Will the two ever figure out who won?

Award-winning author and illustrator Carolyn Fisher delivers a new and incredibly original way to introduce measurement to kids. Back matter includes more information about the animals in the book and about other units of measure.
