Bobby Joseph, the current UK Comics Laureate, has continued to celebrate his love of graphic novels and manga by curating another Laureate Library List of Graphic Novels. The list, which Bobby started in 2024, is supported by Arts Council England and is distributed to libraries across the UK, to encourage more people to read graphic novels.

“This year’s list is two-fold, the first being that it is focused predominantly on UK Comic creators (much of the list is as diverse as I could make it), the second being that it is more focused towards the National Year of Reading 2026.”

Turnaround titles have been fortunate to be featured on previous lists and we are delighted to be featured on it again! Here are our titles Bobby Joseph included on this year’s list from our publishers.

Washed-up actors Derek and Alex have been best friends ever since playing teen superheroes ‘Swallow’ and ‘Buzzard’ in the ’90s TV show Power Pals. Wait, you’ve never heard of it? Hunt Emerson has drawn these pages for Fortean Times magazine since the mid-1980s; they’re about the weird things that happen in the world — Vampires, Ghosts, Faeries, UFOs, Werewolves, Folk Beliefs, Miracles, Mystery Smells, Unknown Animals, Megaliths — all put through his comics filter… well, they make Hunt laugh! Many of the Unexplained Phenomena are based on some sort of documentary evidence. Just as many are invented by Emerson. He loves that marginal world. This book has been a long-term ambition of his: to present a selection of Phenomenomix strips in a luxury comics album. An avalanche of comics, to be ead by the fireside.
