If you haven’t already heard, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is out on 4th August 2017. The movie will star Cara Delevingne, Dane DeHaan, Clive Owen and Rhianna, and the soon-to-be-released blockbuster is directed by the legendary Luc Besson. Even better news: we stock the Valerian and Laureline comic book titles!
Valerian is a French science fiction comics series, created by writer Pierre Christi and artist Jean-Claude Mézières, and follows the exploits of two spatio-temporal agents from the 24th century. The comics have been translated into several languages, including English, and have received an enormous amount of recognition through prestigious awards such as, the Grand Prix de la ville d’Angoulême.
The comics are JAM-PACKED with explosive content, high intensity action and imaginative artistry, that includes time travel, alien life-forms and fantastical worlds. Noted for their complexity in depicting extra-terrestrial civilisations, along with in-depth characterisation without moving away from the fast-paced drama of the plot line.
In preparation for the movie release, and to celebrate the comics behind this upcoming blockbuster, Total Film have featured an advert showcasing the Valerian and Laureline comics for all to see!
